Market Overview
Your first stop for understanding what any crypto asset is doing right now.
What is Market Overview?
Market Overview gives you a comprehensive snapshot of any perpetual futures contract on Binance. Instead of jumping between multiple tabs and tools, you get candlestick price action, Long/Short ratios, Open Interest trends, and Funding Rate sentiment all in one unified view.
This tool is designed to answer the most fundamental trading question: what is the current state of this market? Before diving into specialized analysis, Market Overview helps you quickly assess whether a coin is trending, consolidating, or at a sentiment extreme. It pulls data directly from Binance Futures and presents it in a clean, multi-panel layout.
Whether you are starting your trading day or evaluating a new setup, Market Overview provides the context you need to make informed decisions about where to look deeper.
Key Concepts
- OHLC Candlestick Chart: Standard price chart showing Open, High, Low, and Close data for your selected timeframe
- Long/Short Ratio: The percentage of accounts holding long vs short positions — shows crowd positioning
- Open Interest (OI): The total number of outstanding futures contracts — rising OI means new money entering the market
- Funding Rate: The periodic fee exchanged between longs and shorts — indicates which side is paying a premium to hold positions
How to Use Market Overview
- Open Market Overview from the sidebar
- Select a trading pair (e.g., BTCUSDT, ETHUSDT) from the symbol dropdown
- Choose a lookback period — options range from 8 hours to 1 month depending on your trading timeframe
- Review each panel: price action at the top, Long/Short ratio in the middle, Open Interest changes and Funding Rate sentiment gauge below
What to Look For
- Bullish signals: Rising price combined with increasing Open Interest suggests new longs are entering with conviction. Low or negative funding rates mean the market is not overcrowded on the long side.
- Bearish signals: Declining price with rising OI suggests aggressive short positioning. Extremely positive funding rates indicate overleveraged longs that may get squeezed.
- Key patterns: Divergences between price and OI are especially important. If price rises but OI drops, the move is driven by short closures rather than fresh buying — a weaker signal.
- Combine with: Visual Screener for market-wide context, Funding Heatmap for cross-market funding comparison

Tips
- Start with the 24h lookback for day trading context, then zoom out to 7d or 1 month for bigger picture confirmation
- Pay special attention when Long/Short ratio reaches extremes — crowd positioning is often a contrarian indicator
- Market Overview is a starting point, not a signal generator — use it to build context before applying specialized tools
