RSI Heatmap

Scan RSI values across 500+ cryptocurrencies in one color-coded view.

What is RSI Heatmap?

RSI Heatmap displays the Relative Strength Index values for over 500 cryptocurrencies simultaneously using a color-coded grid. Instead of checking RSI on individual charts one at a time, you get a complete market-wide view of momentum conditions in a single screen.

The RSI measures the speed and magnitude of recent price changes to evaluate whether an asset is overbought or oversold. When applied across the entire crypto market as a heatmap, it reveals which sectors or individual coins are at momentum extremes. This market-wide perspective is something you simply cannot get from a standard charting tool.

Traders use RSI Heatmap to quickly identify clusters of overbought or oversold coins, spot divergences between related assets, and find potential mean-reversion or momentum continuation candidates across the market.

Key Concepts

  • Overbought Zone: RSI values above 70, displayed in hot colors — indicates strong recent buying pressure
  • Oversold Zone: RSI values below 30, displayed in cool colors — indicates strong recent selling pressure
  • Neutral Zone: RSI values between 30 and 70 — indicates balanced momentum
  • Market-Wide Extremes: When a large percentage of coins show overbought or oversold readings simultaneously, the entire market may be at a turning point

How to Use RSI Heatmap

  1. Open RSI Heatmap from the sidebar under Analysis Tools
  2. The heatmap loads showing RSI values for all tracked cryptocurrencies
  3. Use color intensity as your guide — the most extreme colors indicate the most extreme RSI readings
  4. Click on individual tiles to get more detail on specific coins
  5. Look for patterns: clusters of the same color often indicate sector-wide moves

What to Look For

  • Bullish signals: Large clusters of oversold (cool-colored) tiles can indicate a market-wide washout that may be nearing a bounce. Individual coins showing oversold readings while the broader market is neutral may be lagging and due for a catch-up move.
  • Bearish signals: Widespread overbought readings across the market suggest momentum may be overextended. Coins still showing overbought readings while others have started cooling off could be the last to turn.
  • Key patterns: Watch for divergences — if BTC and major altcoins show different RSI regimes, it can signal a shift in market leadership. Clusters of extreme readings in a specific sector (e.g., all AI tokens oversold) often precede sector rotations.
  • Combine with: EMA Heatmap for trend confirmation, Visual Screener for positioning data, Market Overview for deep-diving into specific coins that show extreme readings

Tips

  • RSI extremes are more meaningful in ranging markets than in strong trends — in a powerful uptrend, RSI can stay overbought for extended periods
  • Use RSI Heatmap as a screening tool to generate a watchlist, then apply other DCT tools for confirmation before acting
  • Compare heatmap snapshots across different timeframes to distinguish between short-term noise and sustained momentum shifts
